Unblock Your Chakras with Crystals

Unblock Your Chakras with Crystals

Unblock Your Chakras with Crystals Chakras can become blocked for various reasons, from physical illness to our own emotions. It’s essential to keep all 7 of them opened and balanced out in order to achieve full harmony in physical, emotional, and spiritual health. If you suspect that one or more of your chakras are blocked, the best way to unblock them is with crystal healing. In Sanskrit, the word “chakra” refers to a “disk” or “wheel”. These are wheels of energy located throughout the body. Most practices recognize 7 chakras of them, starting from the root chakra and going upwards to the crown. There are always signs and symptoms that a particular chakra is blocked – or in some instances – overactive. Here are some of the signs that there are problems with each chakra, and which crystals and stones are known for being able to heal that particular chakra. Note: Usually, the stones that are the same color associated with a specific chakra are ideal for healing that chakra, but that isn’t always the case 100% of the time. Root Chakra The Muladhara is the root chakra, located at the base of the spine. It is associated with the element Earth and the colors red and black. This is the chakra that keeps your physical body grounded and connected to the earth, like a foundation. Symptoms of the Root Chakra being blocked, or out of balance: Overwhelming stress due to external circumstances Feeling tired and sluggish Financial fears and money issues Instability Depression Anxiety Lack of self-esteem and sense of belonging Poor focus on work or just life in general In short, if the Muladhara is not working properly, it is difficult to stay connected to the physical world in a positive manner. It could also have a negative effect on our physical health – particularly the skeletal system. Lower back pain is a common physical symptom. Here are some crystals to use to help unblock and re-balance the Root Chakra: Red Jasper – This red stone is great for grounding and providing emotional stability. Due to its association with the Earth element, and its ability to help one regain lost vitality, Red Jasper jewelry or wands can be used to heal the Root Chakra.   Hematite – This stone helps bring positive vibrations – especially to those who have been experiencing feelings of instability and insecurity.   Black Tourmaline – Transform all of the negative emotions associated with having Root Chakra problems into positive energy with Black Tourmaline stones. It’s also revered as a “protective shield” against all negative energies and vibrations. Choose one (or all three) of these, lie down on your stomach, and place it on your lower back area, or between your thighs. Concentrate on the color red and things and people that make you feel “warm”. Always state your intention that the physical, emotional, and spiritual symptoms you have been suffering from the blockage go away, and that you are healed fully. Visualize the red energy wheel at your lower back spinning freely, clear of any debris. (More on how to use the crystals for healing below) Sacral Chakra Also known as the Svadhisthana, the Sacral Chakra is the “orange” chakra located just below the belly button right at the physical center of the body. It’s associated with the element of Water. The nature of your physical relationships with others, pleasure, creativity, and many of the joys of life depend on this chakra being unblocked and working properly. This means that if it is NOT working properly, you are likely experiencing symptoms such as: Difficulty finding meaningful relationships Any type of sexual dysfunction Extreme tiredness Trouble with creativity Inability to feel joyful Use warm amber and orange colored stones to help you heal this chakra. A few ideal ones are: Carnelian – Use Orange Carnelian stones if you feel that you need a boost of vitality in a relationship, creativity, or both. Citrine – Golden Citrine is ideal for those who have a blocked Sacral chakra due to the negative emotions from toxic relationships in the past. It encourages confidence and self-esteem in the present.   Amber – This warm, glowing stone inspires positivity, creativity, and even excitement in lovemaking. Here’s a simple tip: carry around a piece of Baltic amber in your pocket so that it will remain close to your second chakra. Use positive affirmations when using crystal healing for this chakra such as “I honor and respect myself. I deserve to be honored and respected by others” and “I am spontaneous, and my creativity flows through me.” Solar Plexus Chakra Located from the belly button up to the sternum, the third chakra, Manipura, represents your relationship with yourself and how much control you have over your own life. It’s connected with the element of Fire and the color yellow. A blocked Solar Plexus Chakra can result in you feeling powerless over life and yourself, low self-worth, and physical symptoms such as stomach pain. It’s also possible to have an overactive third chakra, where you would feel overly ambitious in your own life and too possessive over somebody else’s life. Crystals for balancing out / unblocking the Solar Plexus Chakra include: Yellow Apatite – Use Yellow or Golden Apatite to instill a newfound sense of assertiveness in your life. It’s known for providing personal power in a positive manner to help individuals achieve goals. Calcite – This crystal comes in a variety of colors. Use the yellow or orange varieties to help with the physical symptoms of a blocked Solar Plexus, such as stomach ulcers and pain. Rutilated Quartz – If you have an overactive third chakra and someone else is involved, use this type of quartz will help heal the chakra and your relationship with that person. Negative feelings towards them will be transformed into something more positive. For healing physical symptoms associated with the Solar Plexus Chakra, lie back and place Calcite on that particular part of your stomach. Visualize its energy surrounding the yellow spinning wheel and pushing away everything that is harmful. Make sure that your intention is clear that the pain or illness be relieved and that you feel better. Use the other stones similarly with the intention of getting more motivation in your life and to “heal” unhealthy relationships with other people. You can also wear Amber jewelry to help with the third chakra. Heart Chakra The center of the chest is obviously the location of the 4th chakra. It’s called Anahata in Sanskrit and is in charge of spiritual and romantic love, compassion, forgiveness, and everything that makes us human. It’s primarily green and pink and gemstones that heal the heart. Emotional signs of a blocked Heart Chakra include feeling hurt over a past relationship or current relationship, intense sadness, feelings of loss, difficulty letting go of grudges, and so forth. Physical signs include chest pain, asthma, allergies, and any kind of heart disease. The Anahata is associated with the Air element and green. Use gemstones like: Green Tourmaline – This semi-precious stone is excellent for those who need Heart Chakra healing. To enhance its abilities, use it with Pink Tourmaline. Rose Quartz – Use this crystal to help you let go of past relationships and to attract more love into your life. Emerald – As it is often referred to as the “stone of successful love”, Emerald is definitely a precious stone you’ll want in your chakra healing collection. It can also help heal the physical symptoms associated with a blocked Heart Chakra. Other stones you might want to use to help heal the physical symptoms include Amazonite (for bronchitis and other issues with the heart and throat chakras) and Rhodochrosite to help heal ALL heart blockages – including emotional ones and physical ones. Place green and pink crystals beside your bed and underneath your pillow to help create a calm, peaceful environment to help you rest and heal faster. Throat Chakra The 5th chakra, the Vishuddha, is located at the center of the neck. It is a passage for the energy between the head and lower parts of the body and is responsible for communication and self-expression. Those with a blocked Throat Chakra have communication issues and experience difficulty expressing themselves and interacting with others verbally. A few other symptoms include: Voice loss Nasal problems / congestion / sore throat Thyroid problems Extreme shyness Habitual lying You’ll want to mostly use blue and blue-green stones to unblock your Throat Chakra: Aquamarine – This is one of – if not THE – most powerful stones for cleansing and stimulating the fifth chakra. It gives one the courage to speak up clearly and honestly, without any anger or fear. Lapis Lazuli – Use this stone to help you understand AND speak the truth. It promotes self-expression. Amazonite – To soothe the physical symptoms of a blocked Throat Chakra, use Amazonite. It also helps one to speak their opinions and ideas without fear of judgment. In addition to Amazonite, you’ll want to use Blue Lace Agate to help with physical symptoms – especially ones involving the thyroid gland. Wearing a pendant with any of these stones is a good way to get started with Throat Chakra healing. Third Eye Chakra The 6th chakra, Ajna, is also known as the “brow chakra”. It is the center of perception, awareness, and consciousness. To have a healthy Third Eye Chakra is essential if you want to develop intuition and psychic abilities. If this chakra is blocked, there is going to be A LOT of perception issues. It’s going to be difficult to maintain a grasp of what’s really going on around you. Symptoms are going to include: Confusion Dizziness Sinus headaches Blurry vision (both physically and symbolically) Difficulty making decisions – including simple ones Vulnerability around others who might want to take advantage of you Use dark blue and light purple stones to help you unblock your brow chakra: Sodalite – This beautiful stone is very beneficial for those who need help thinking logically and more clearly. It can also be used to help you access your own subconscious thoughts. Purple Fluorite – Hold onto a Purple Fluorite stone whenever you need to get over “brain fog”. It really assists in mental clarity and organizing thoughts. Vera Cruz Amethyst – Use this specific variety of Amethyst to ease the physical symptoms associated with a blocked Third Eye AND to help awaken the pineal gland. Crystal elixirs are GREAT for unblocking and healing the Third Eye Chakra. You can also wear indigo and purple colored stone earrings (especially Amethyst) to help you stay focused and aware of the environment around you. Crown Chakra Located slightly above the head is the 7th chakra, the Sahasrara. The Crown Chakra is what connects us to the higher states of consciousness and to the divine. It is not possible to achieve enlightenment when this chakra is blocked and experiencing problems. First, you must focus on opening all the other chakras, and then you’ll be able to unblock the Crown Chakra. In addition to the other chakras being out of balance, other signs that the Sahasrara is blocked include: A feeling of insignificance and “out of place” in the universe The feeling of abandonment from a “higher power” or your spirit guide Having too much of an obsession and attachment to material things Very painful migraines and tension headaches Use white and dark purple crystals to help unblock the 7th chakra: Clear quartz – This is a very versatile and powerful stone to have for any spiritual purpose, including clearing a path to the astral realm. Use it to help you overcome anything blocking your communication with your spirit guide. Herkimer Diamond – It’s not surprising that such beautiful, rare stones are very powerful at healing. Use Herkimer Diamonds to help you access divine energies. Keep at least one under your pillow at night to help keep your Crown Chakra open and to aid in lucid dreaming. Amethyst – Use dark purple Amethyst in crystal therapy to help relieve migraines and any other physical symptoms. Sit straight and place one or more on top of your head. Try your best to visualize the energy from the Amethyst clearing away debris from the Crown Chakra. In addition to these stones, you can work on healing the 7th chakra simply with gratitude. Make a list of things you are thankful for every single day, no matter how small or insignificant. There are many benefits of a “Gratitude Journal”. How to Heal Your Chakras with Crystals For a “full-body grid”, you’ll need someone to help you – ideally someone who is also knowledgeable about crystal healing. If one chakra is blocked, it can still affect the other chakras. Place at least one of the stones mentioned as close as each chakra location as you can get it. Relax and meditate for at least 30 minutes. Visualize the energy from the crystal going into each chakra – one at a time – starting with the Root Chakra, cleansing it and opening it back up again. It’s ideal that you get an entire crystal set for all of your chakras, even if you think you just need one. You never know when another one might become blocked in the future. Also, use crystals in conjunction with Reiki healing and crystal elixirs / crystal infused water to enhance the results. Once again, state your intention clearly before you begin meditation. Use affirmations such as “I am healing my <name of chakra> with this <name of stone>” if you want to. Some people find affirmations to help them focus more so than visualization.

Crystal Tips for Empaths

Crystal Tips for Empaths

Crystal Tips for Empaths It could be said that to be an empath is both a blessing and a curse. You are blessed with the ability to be able to feel other people’s true joy and happiness, but at the same time cursed for being able to feel their pain and heartbreak. Some empaths can even feel the physical pain and sickness that others are going through. Fortunately, there are ways to deal with the pain and to protect yourself from feeling too overwhelmed by other people’s energies. Even getting an overload of positive energy can be a bit too much at times. If you have an interest in crystals, you are already off to a good start. Crystal healing is among the best ways for an energy-sensitive person to keep themselves grounded and sure of their own emotions as well as to shield themselves from any kind of negative energy. Here are some crystal tips for empaths: Create a Barrier Around Yourself Put a stop to the excess energy coming into your personal space from others – especially if that energy is negative. You can do this by using crystals and stones that will act as a “shield” and absorb the negative emotions. Wear them or keep them close by at all times. Here are a few stones to help you get started: Labradorite – This stone, which comes in a variety of colors from “sea foam green” to “shimmering blue”. Whether you wear it as a piece of jewelry or carry it around as a palm stone, Labradorite will provide you with protection against undesirable energies and even psychic vampirism. It creates a shield around the aura. Black Tourmaline – Get this “bodyguard” stone that provides protection from negative energy AND the elimination of it. You can literally put pieces of it everywhere to ensure that hostile people and vibes are kept away from you as much as possible. In ancient times, mystics would use Black Tourmaline to ward off evil spirits. Yellow Jasper – This is a “travel protection” stone that empaths should wear whenever they have to travel anywhere. Certain varieties – such as Polished Bumblebee Jasper - are especially helpful, as they can protect you from your OWN negative feelings and emotions. Keeping a stone close to you will help maintain a positive attitude and clear mind during your travels. Shielding yourself does not have to be a difficult process. Just wear the right crystal jewelry or hold the stones in your palms if they are small enough. If they are large stones, then place them before you. Simply envision the energy coming from them and wrapping around you like a bubble of bright light to encompass not just your body but your aura as well. Love and Accept Yourself Perhaps the most important thing you can do is to accept yourself for who you are and love yourself. No amount of negative energy from toxic people or “psychic vampires” can bother you too much if you have high self-esteem and truly love yourself. If this seems like it might be difficult for you, then your heart chakra might need some work. Here are some crystals that help heal and open the heart chakra: Rainbow Obsidian – Usually available in heart-shaped cuts, this stone helps bring love and light into the heart, and to protect the owner from depression.   Rose Quartz – Often thought to be the most “powerful crystal for the heart”, Rose Quartz will help empaths to let go of any sadness or pain causing the heart chakra to be blocked. It helps to both purify and reawaken the heart.   Pink Rhodonite – This is the stone of “self-love and unconditional love”. It’s essential in any energy work dealing with issues relating to the heart. Combining the power of these crystals with affirmations / mantras, such as “I love and accept myself for who I am” and “I am worthy of love” really goes a long way in healing the heart chakra. Lie back and have one of these stones on your chest over your heart, or wear it as a pendant hanging down over your chest while you meditate. Banish the Negativity and Cleanse the Space Around You Spiritual clearing is essential for any empathy or energy-sensitive individuals who want to keep their energy field clean from the thoughts and emotions of others. It’s not just other people who can affect empaths, but certain places and objects too. Keep crystals on you at all times – especially when you have to go somewhere that you know is going to be filled with a lot of tension and negativity, such as work, a toxic relative’s house, or even just a family outing or shopping trip. You never know when you might run into a bunch of negative energy. To aid in banishing and cleansing, use these stones: Moonstone – This is one of the most beautiful stones, and is a great choice for clearing the aura of negative energy. Since it’s connected with the crown chakra and third eye chakra, you might want to wear Rainbow Moonstone Earrings whenever you have to go a place that brings you anxiety, to aid in keeping those chakras cleared.   Selenite – Many, many people believe Selenite to be one of – if not THE most powerful cleansing crystal. It comes in different forms, and any of them will be strong enough to clear away all the negative energy surrounding you. Some would even suggest waving it around like a wand to cleanse your aura. Create a “sacred place” just for you. It can be your own room, a small spot in your office, or someplace outdoors. It doesn’t have to be large – just small enough for you to sit down with your crystals and spend at least 20 minutes trying to relax and stay calm. While this space is just for you, it’s okay to bring pets in if they provide you with comfort. You can also create a “safe space” within your own mind. Use crystals like Moonstone, Selenite, and Fluorite to help you stay calm and maintain mental clarity. Transmute Negative Energy into Something Positive What’s an empath to do when he or she is stuck in a situation that seems overwhelmingly negative, and he/she wants to transmute that feeling to something more positive? This is where transmutation crystals come in. Until you master the ability to clear your aura and personal space from negative energy and to shield yourself, some still might get through. There still might be some that is stagnant and stubborn. You might also have your OWN negative energy to deal with, as opposed to some coming from the outside. Regardless, this is where transmutation comes in. Just either neutralize that lingering negative energy or transmute it. These are helpful crystals: Smoky Quartz – Smoky quartz is good at really digging in and getting rid of old negative energy that has suck into your auric –field, whether they come from within or an outside source, and then transforming that energy into something more positive. Smokey quartz also has use as a grounding crystal, and staying grounding is crucial for an empath. Amethyst – It’s no secret that Amethyst is one of the most powerful crystals in existence. It’s always recommended for any type of energy work. This is due to the fact that it is a stone of spiritual growth and connects the human body to the higher realms via crown chakra. Amethyst jewelry can also help transmute negative energy to positive energy. Black Onyx - This is yet another stone that can be used for both protection and transmuting negative energy. You should wear Onyx jewelry to prevent the drain of your own personal energy and to help you maintain stamina. Additional Crystal Healing Tips for Empaths Learn how to cut cords if you haven’t already done so. Etheric cords connect individuals through energy. While everybody has cords connecting them with somebody, they tend to be a lot thicker with empaths. There can be negative cords hanging from you that just won’t go away. Which stones are the best for this? Just about any black stone, such as Black Kyanite, Black Onyx, or Obsidian would make a good choice. Or you could use a Selenite wand. Make your intention clear: “I remove all cords connecting me to harmful people or things. I release my connection with that person / object with love and light”. Create protection grids for your home and body. Creating crystal grids doesn’t have to be a difficult process. You can create one in your “special place”. Or, if you need one at all times, create a “portable grid” so to speak by keeping a pouch with “protective” gems. For example, keep Yellow or Bumblebee Jasper stones in the pouch and wear a Labradorite pendant. Also, Polished Jet Palm Stones are excellent for any crystal grid involving protection. Always try and stay grounded. As you start to work with your crystals for empaths, you’ll begin to feel more emotionally stable. It’s important that you try to stay connected to the earth and keep your feet on the ground. Your intentions should always be clear. Separate your own personal feelings and emotions from others, and clear out or cut the cords that shouldn’t be around you. Use the more ancient stones to help you stay connected to the Earth. Hematite, Magnetite, and Moldavite are really powerful stones to use for any empath. Whenever you are feeling overwhelmed or confused with emotions, take one of these stones outside with you. Spend a few minutes by yourself and simply enjoy the nature surrounding you. Remember That You’re Not Alone There are many other empaths out there going through the same things you’ve been going through. It’s up to you to take the time to turn your empathy into a blessing instead of a curse. The tools you’ll need are out there – and crystals are the most powerful tools you can use.

Guide to Using Face Rollers

Guide to Using Face Rollers

Gemstone Face Rollers Guide Gemstones and crystals have been used in many types of healing and treatments since ancient times, so it’s not surprising that people are now using them for skincare and beauty. From anti-aging to lymph drainage, there are so many purported benefits of using rose quartz face rollers.   They aren’t being used just for physical beauty, either –these stones are ideal for emotional and mental well-being as well. If you’re familiar with crystal healing then you know that each stone has certain properties that can aid in various types of healing, including Reiki and chakra therapy. Even if you just need a face roller to help relax your tense facial muscles and relieve stress, it is worth investing in.   What’s more is that they can be used with other skincare products such as cleansers, moisturizers, oils, and masks, and help with their absorption. Gems have a cool, super-smooth surface, so when rolling them against your face, it allows better access into the tissues and muscles with the right amount of pressure, making a rose quartz roller a better option for a massage than a manual one with just hands. It is also very gentle and safe.   What are some more ways these tools can be used? How should you properly use them on your face? What are the benefits?   Rose Quartz Rollers   Here are some of the uses of these Rose Quartz Roller and why they are becoming so popular: There is a “morning roller” that is ideal for those who feel sluggish during the early hours and need the qi or chi energy in their body to balance out. This roller helps revitalize the skin so that it helps the user stay awake and fresh for the rest of the day.   Rose Quartz rollers, in particular, are excellent at encouraging the lymphatic drainage process, which is one of the better health and beauty benefits. It boosts the circulation and blood flow right beneath the skin. After a bit of use, you’ll start to notice a visible glow.   This beauty product helps to increase the proportion of collagen and elasticity in the skin. I noticed after just a couple of uses that my skin started to feel a lot softer than the usual moisturizers alone.   A roller can be very beneficial for those who suffer from migraines and other types of pain around the face, neck, and jaw. For example, it helps get rid of headaches caused by disorders such as TMJ, as the stone helps relieve muscle tension around the jaw area without affecting the muscles that cause the misalignment.   Where this particular stone really stands out is its ability to relieve any kind of stress associated with the heart chakra. The ancient Greeks and Romans attributed the symbol of love to rose quartz. In some Native American cultures, this stone was used to soothe negative emotions like disappointment, anger, frustration, etc. Here are a few reasons to consider this gem roller: Heartbreak, depression, jealousy, sadness, and any other negative emotion associated with the heart will often contribute to skin problems. I know better than anybody that stress can lead to really bad acne! Instead of spending money on a bunch of over-the-counter products containing harsh chemicals, I now just use my rose quartz roller, as it eliminates toxins and drains out all of the oil and gunk trapped in the pores. Not only is it very effective in clearing the skin up, but it’s also helping me save money in the long run by not having to buy as many topical anti-acne products.   You obviously don’t have to use these rollers just on the face. Use it around the chest area to give your heart chakra a boost. If you’re familiar with chakra healing then you know that certain crystals and stones associated with each chakra can be placed on or near that part of the body to help heal it and bring balance. Use the rose quartz roller for a massage, and clear up any chest acne while you’re at it!   One of the metaphysical benefits of using rose quartz is that it simply provides a boost of “self-love” and positive energy. Whenever you feel down on your luck, just spend a few minutes with this roller to help you experience more positive vibes.   How to Use Gemstone Face Rollers   The first thing to keep in mind: You should only use it on clean skin. Rinse your face, neck, and any other part of your body off that you want to use it on. Genuine rollers feel cool to the touch. If yours doesn’t, it’s okay to put it in the fridge for a little while.   While you will likely establish a routine you are comfortable with on your own, here is my own personal routine that you might want to try out:   Decide if you want to use it over top of a mask to aid in the absorption process (just make sure the mask is starting to dry and won’t stick onto the gem). Or you can simply use it on a fresh, clean skin directly. This is your decision to make.   I usually begin at the base of my neck with the larger gem and gently roll up towards my chin. Do this a few times on each side of your neck.   From there, continue onto the jaw line and chin and move the roller up along one cheek at a time, and then outwards towards each ear. Move it up as well and massage your chin. Another thing that is a matter of personal preference is whether or not you want to massage your lips. I personally don’t, but some users prefer to do so – very gently with the smaller end of the roller.   With the smaller roller, try to get the contours of your nose. It’s best to start at the bridge of the nose and work your way outwards and upwards. Be VERY CAREFUL around the eyes – especially underneath them. Gem rollers can help relieve dark circles, but you need to massage that skin very lightly and slowly.   Next, lift the roller and place it on the eyebrows and push upwards towards your hairline.   The entire process will only take a couple of minutes. It’s a good idea to massage the face with a gem roller once in the morning and once at night.   Caring for Gemstone Face Rollers   Always clean the roller after each use to remove any serums or excess oils that can build up on the gemstone. Some users wipe their rollers down with a damp towel, but I prefer to use a bit of mild soap. Afterwards, I carefully rinse it off with cool water.   It’s also a good idea to keep it in the refrigerator for a little bit before using it. At the very least, do not leave it in a spot where it can get too warm. Always store it in a special storage bag or wrap it up in a soft, dry cloth. When not storing it in the fridge, keep it in a cool place where it won’t fall easily and will not be subjected to excess moisture. A bathroom isn’t the best place to store a gem roller due to excess moisture. ALWAYS make sure that it is completely dry before putting it in storage. I like to leave it out for a half-hour or so to air dry after dabbing at it with a dry cloth.   Conclusion Go ahead and give it a try – you really won’t be disappointed. Gemstone face rollers are great tools for beauty and skincare routines.

Shapes of Various Stone and Their Meanings

Shapes of Various Stone and Their Meanings

Shapes of Various Stone and Their Meanings Whether you are involved in crystal healing or any other type of gemstone work, the actual shape is often just as important as the type of stone and the color. You’ve probably noticed when gem shopping that they are often sold in different shapes and varieties, with some of the more common being Wand, Sphere, Pyramid, Egg, Hearts, and even Raw or Natural. The carving of crystals in various shapes, particularly geometric and nature / celestial symbols, is nothing new. The tradition goes back into ancient times in various cultures. Today the cutting or polishing is usually done via machine or more modern, updated methods. Polished / Cut Stones VS Natural Stones Sometimes it is beneficial to use stones cut into particular shapes, while other times it is better just to use them in their raw form. What is the difference? When a crystal is sleeping in its natural habitat, the vibrations around it are unique. With some stones, the more the natural shape is “altered” after it is dug out, the more the energy has changed. However, it’s important to note that there are certain properties in each stone that are always going to be there. The plus side to working with cut, polished stones is that the way they are cut can actually enhance some of the properties in a way that makes them easier to use. The shape they are cut into can make them more useful in energy work than they would be in their raw form. Note: My personal favorite stone to have raw is moldavite. While it is more expensive due to it's rarity, it is worth having as it is a very powerful stone with origins that are not entirely of this world. Moldavite is a natural green tektite – that was formed a long time in the heat of an asteroid impact. I’ve found it to be useful in a variety of energy work – particularly when it comes to protection and inner strength. The first time I ever held moldavite in my hand I could instantly feel the intense vibrations. About Sphere-Shaped Stones Just their shape alone makes crystal spheres look beautiful in any setting, making it a great choice in home decor, let alone for healing, scrying, and all types of energy work. The sphere is one of the most important shapes in the universe. All of the planets, moon, and sun are all perfectly sphere-shaped. Spheres symbolize not only astronomical bodies but the unification of the mind, spirit, and body. Usually, the first things that comes to mind when people think of rounded-crystals is the infamous crystal ball, which has historically been used for scrying. Of course, you don’t just have to use spheres in scrying. They come in all sizes. I like to hold a smaller one in each hand when I meditate to help stay calm. I’ve found that larger ones are great to have in crystal grids. Here are some popular crystal and gemstone balls and why you might want to keep them around: Amethyst – Amethyst is a remarkable stone of spirituality and contentment, known for its metaphysical abilities to still the mind and inspire an enhanced meditative state.   Ruby Fuschite – Ruby Fuchsite helps us to understand issues concerning our daily lives; such as stress, physical health, routines, career and environment.   Clear quartz – Clear Quartz amplifies whatever energy or intent is programmed into it, and continues to broadcast that energy throughout the world and into the etheric realms.   Golden calcite citrine – A great ball to have around the house to invite in more prosperity and abundance.   Rose quartz – Emits warm, positive energy out in all directions to fully immerse those close by with feelings of love and joy.   Fluorite – Brings organization and focus to a chaotic mind. It allows you to release any emotions and energy that are harmful to you. This is particularly a good sphere to have for empaths. They are all so pretty and bring good things, just as long as you remember to cleanse them first. It’s up to you if you want to give them a specific intention or not, as with any stone or crystal. Just look at different spheres to see which one(s) call out to you the most. About Crystal Wands Unlike spheres, which pulse out energy in all directions, wands give the user a bit more control in directing the energy towards a specific direction with an intended purpose in mind. Rainbow fluorite and dark fluorite are always good choices – particularly for third eye chakra work and psychic abilities. These wands are usually (but not always) rounded or flattened at one end and pointed or tapered at the other end. GENERALLY, one would aim the pointed or tapered end to him or herself to draw in energy or outwards to put out energy into the universe. However, there is more to it than just that. Here are some things you need to know about crystal wands: They come in various sizes, from “mini” to long and even cylinder and thick. The cylinder can be smooth or faceted. Use mini, double-terminated wands to balance out all chakras by placing, for example, double-terminated amethyst over the crown chakra, lapis lazuli or sapphire wand over the third eye chakra, and so on.   The thick, cylinder-shaped crystals or gemstones are usually perfect as centerpieces in a crystal grid. The ideal type of stone and color depend on the purpose of that particular grid.   In some chakra and reiki healing sessions, the pointed end is aimed towards the patient not to draw something in them, but to take something out, and then ground it or direct it away. Selenite wands are EXCELLENT for this. They can be used like an “eraser” to remove all the negative energy from the body and chakras. However, remember to “ground” the negative energy and cleanse the selenite wand after the healing session.   Clear quartz is a good choice for beginners. This translucent stone has many energy properties and is often referred to as the “master crystal”.   Program a crystal or gemstone wand with a specific intention and then point it out towards the universe. Visualize the energy going out towards its destination. If you are trying to manifest something into your life, point the wand back towards you and visualize the energy doing its work and bringing that particular thing right to you. About Crystal and Gemstone Eggs Egg-shaped gemstones, like spheres, are beautiful and simply nice to have around the home. They come in all sizes, from tiny palm-sized stones to giant egg decorations you can place on a table as part of your decor. While I primarily use them in energy work, I still keep a large deep red garnet egg in my living room because I like the way it looks AND because it is my birthstone. Traditionally, the “egg” shape has always been associated with femininity, fertility, and birth. It’s common to use gemstone eggs in any energy work that deals with new beginners, rebirth, or fertility. It also has some other uses. For instance, the smaller ones fit perfectly in the palm and are great to use in meditation. If you’re unsure where to start, here are a few must-have crystal and gemstone eggs: Hematite – This reflective silver makes a mesmerizing egg. This is a good option for a grounding stone, as it helps bring awareness back to the mind and the moment at hand. Use it if you need help staying focused on your daily life. Garnet – Red garnet, in particular, was considered a “sacred” stone by warriors in various cultures, including ancient Egyptians, Aztecs, Mayans, etc. Use a garnet stone egg to help give you strength to face your fears and to protect your home. Yellow or orange garnet is good to use for those who want to develop a stronger connection with mother earth. Emerald – A large, egg-shaped emerald is good to have as the centerpiece for crystal grids intended for prosperity and good fortune. Since it’s also associated with the heart chakra, hold onto smaller emerald egg stones when trying to heal the heart. Purple fluorite – These gemstone eggs are VERY PRETTY to look at and useful to have whenever you need a boost of positivity and self-confidence. Jade - Jade eggs are the best option for anything relating to sexuality and fertility.   Fire opal – If you’re involved in business and trying to attract new prospects, keep small fire opal eggs close to you. You can also keep a large one in your office or place of business, as fire opal is often used to draw in money. Some gemstone eggs are sold with a stand, which is a must-have accessory if you plan on using the egg with your crystal grid or placing it on a table or desk. Other Crystal and Gemstone Shapes As mentioned above, gemstones come in all types of shapes, from geometry to symbols of nature. Heart-shaped crystals obviously represent all things associated with love, romance, and of the heart chakra. If you want to do healing work with the heart chakra, use a pink heart such as pink Amethyst. Some other favorites include Celestite, Polychrome Jasper & Carnelian to gift a loved one. Don’t be alarmed by skull-shaped crystals and gemstones. They are not just creepy things used for Halloween or creepy alters. The symbol of a skull can symbolize detachment and “letting go” of things that you probably shouldn’t be holding on to anymore. Use a crystal cut into the shape of a skull if you need help moving forward with your life. Star-shaped gemstones aren’t just used in jewelry. In crystal form they help “bring down” the celestial energies to us when we do healing and energy work. “As above, so below” is a good phrase to describe stones cut into stars. Ancient Egyptians and Aztecs understood the importance of pyramids. This shape can preserve energy for a very, very long time. Use pyramid-shaped crystals in any long-term energy work, as it will not only preserve the energy you put into it, but the design will allow it to be amplified. There are many, many other shapes that gems can be cut into. What is the right shape for you? Which crystal should you choose? Much of it is a matter of personal preference. I prefer Raw & sphere shaped crystals the most, but it’s not the same for everybody. If there is a particular shape you’ve always been drawn to, look and see what kinds of gemstones you can get in that shape.

Charging Water with Crystals

Charging Water with Crystals

Charging Water with Crystals: How to Create Your Own Crystal-Infused Water More and more people are becoming interested in crystal healing and therapy, so it’s not surprising that some companies are starting to sell crystal-infused water bottles. You can learn to charge water with crystals yourself, as long as you use stones that are safe in water and don’t dissolve, corrode, or contain any mineral that is unfit for human consumption. There are, however, some techniques for charging the water with stones indirectly by placing them around the bottle/jar or on top of the lid. Once you have an idea of which crystals you can use, you can research the properties of each (if you haven’t yet done so) and select some that have the unique frequencies you need for the particular ailment you need healing for. Some people drink crystal-infused water just to improve their overall health and well-being. There is no rule that says you have to actually DRINK the water. You can always add the crystal elixir to your bath, or even use the water for your garden. Which stones should you AVOID? To start with, you’ll want to avoid any crystal that contains lead or copper, such as malachite, azurite, chalcopyrite, galena, Amazonite, mohawkite, or turquoise – just to name a few. Aluminum is also found in some gemstones and should be avoided. These include aquamarine, garnet, labradorite, ruby, sapphire, and any other stone in the “Beryl Group”: bixbite, heliodor, goshenite, emerald, and morganite. This doesn’t mean that you can’t use any of these at all, you just can’t put them directly into the water. Safe Crystals to Use & Their Purposes If you’re still unsure which stones you should use, here are a few recommendations: Shungite – for cleansing and detoxifying the body (always clean it very gently with a toothbrush beforehand)   Amethyst – helps bring spiritual guidance, balance, and peace into one’s life, and is great for anything related to the third-eye chakra Obsidian – A protective stone that shields against negative energy. It is also truth-enhancing and promotes emotional stability.   Lapis Lazuli – helps strengthen your bonds with others, manifests compassion and self-love, and cleanses fear     Rose quartz – can help with anything involving the heart chakra, and keeps you calm during stressful times. It also aids in forgiveness and love.   Red jasper – for bringing endurance, stamina, energy, and physical and inner strength into your life. Clear quartz – helps clear negative energy out, strengthens the auric field, and for overcoming self-doubt.   Citrine – the bright, yellow color of citrine means that it is associated with the sun. Drink citrine water to drive out negativity and darkness. It’s also good for enhancing prosperity and fertility. Carnelian – available in shades of orange, red, and even brown, this stone is known for promoting motivation, endurance, and creativity.   Smoky quartz – in shades of brown, this member of the quartz family is associated with home, nature, and stability. It’s a good choice for a grounding stone. Once again, if you want to use a crystal and you are unsure of whether it would be safe to drink, you can use an indirect method of charging by placing it around the water bottle instead of placing it directly in the water. It’s generally accepted that most stones in the “quartz” and “citrine” families are safe to directly add to water. Making Your Own Crystal Infused Water Here are the steps involved in charging water with crystals: Take the time to rinse the crystal by placing it under running water or gently scrubbing it with a toothbrush. It’s okay to use a bit of soap, just as long as you rinse it all off. You also might want to “cleanse” it by placing it under the sun for several hours. It does not have to be direct sunlight. Once it is clean, take the time to charge it with your intentions. What do you want to use that particular stone for? Which of its properties do you hope to utilize? It’s okay if you want to make full use of all of its properties and the benefits it offers.   Experts tend to recommend that you use glass jars with lids. For obvious reasons, it’s always better to use spring water and to avoid tap water. Only use tap water if you have no alternative and cannot get to the store to purchase natural or spring water. It’s debatable whether distilled water should ever be used, with the consensus is that it should NOT. In addition to leaving the glass jar filled with spring water out in the sunlight, leave the stones or crystals you have chosen around it or on the lid. You don’t have to place them inside until after at least three or four hours of sunlight. Those stones that are toxic should not be placed inside at all. Note: those that you DO place inside the bottle should not be kept in there permanently. Keep them inside for a little while (more below) and then take them out. You don’t want to accidentally choke on them!   Try to visualize in your mind’s eye bright lights coming from the crystals into the water, through the jar or lid. It helps to meditate for several minutes while doing this. In addition to visualizing the water being charged via bright light, remind the stones of your intentions as well. There is no need to drink the water right away. I like to stick mine in the fridge and let it get cool first, and then remove the stones. By this point, they should have charged the water with the intention you placed upon them. I personally take sips throughout the day. I always try and keep rose quartz-infused water and amethyst-infused water to save for when I have to go to places where I know will be hectic and stressful. I drink a bit before and during the event to stay calm and peaceful. Additional Tips and Notes for Charging Water with Crystals Whichever stone you choose to use, use a single tumbled stone as opposed to rough stones or clusters. This is because a single, smooth rock is easier to clean than ones with crevices and rough edges. Also, it’s not a good idea to put a rough stone or pointed crystal in the water as they might break or crack in the water, leaving tiny shards that you might overlook and accidentally swallow, even if you take the gem out.   You can always use moonlight instead of sunlight to charge the water and stones – especially on nights of a New Moon or Full Moon. Ideally, wait until a New Moon to charge crystal water if your intentions for it are to bring something new into your life. Charging under a full moon is ideal if the intention involves increasing something in your life, such as positive energy or luck. If you can’t wait until a Full or New Moon, then go ahead and do the sunlight method.   When setting your intention, you might find it helpful to write it down on a small piece of paper, and then tape that paper to the jar. When I do this, I try to keep the note short and then focus on the details when I meditate. If I am working on an “Abundance Jar”, I write “Increasing Abundance” on the jar with citrine on top of the lid and then spend a few minutes visualizing the energy coming from the citrine into the jar and meditate for a few minutes at the start of the charging process, three hours into the charging process when I place the citrine inside of the jar, and then at the end, right before I bring the jar in.   There are a couple of different methods of charging bath water with crystal energy. You can either pour a few drops of the charged water from the bottle into your tub and mix it in with the bathwater, or actually place the stones in the tub with you. You can also hold them in your hands if you wish. Sit and relax for at least 10 minutes, soaking up the energy. State your intention over and over again like a mantra. Don’t forget to take them out before you pull the plug! You can certainly add more than one stone to your water, just as long as they are a good combination together. Carnelian + clear quartz is a good combination to have for work. Carnelian will give you a boost of energy and creativity, and the clear quartz will boost your focus. Lapis lazuli + rose quartz make a good combination for any crystal water elixir intended for finding new love or strengthening a current relationship. Just a bit more about the indirect method of charging water with crystals and gems: it is not as potent or strong as the direct method. You are going to get a more potent “elixir” or crystal-infused water if you place the stone directly into the water and allow it to charge for a few hours. However, the indirect method can still be effective if you put enough focus and energy behind the intention. Also, the indirect method allows for more versatility and creativity since there are so many more stones you can choose from. Crystal-infused water, gem water, elixirs: whatever you want to call them, they are here to stay. You don’t have to spend a fortune buying them. Just take the time to charge your water with the crystals that call out to you.

Manifesting with Crystal Grids

Manifesting with Crystal Grids

Manifesting with Crystal Grids: Creating, Charging, and Setting Your Intention If you’ve been experimenting with crystals, then take your interest a step further and learn how to actually MANIFEST abundance, love, prosperity, peace, and overall positivity in your life by creating crystal grids. The perfect geometry within many types of gemstones and crystals makes them ideal energy conduits that are easy to program. Their power can be amplified when placed in a specific grid format, which is an aid to help you communicate your intentions on what you want to manifest. What, exactly, are crystal grids? These can be described as an intentional arrangement of crystals and gemstones – usually in a geometric pattern – to create an energy field inside the home or office, for manifestation or attraction. Each mineral in a grid is carefully selected for its properties, and combining multiple minerals to create a “grid” is thought to combine and enhance their energies. There are useful tools on the internet to help you get started. Just take a look at pre-made layouts and patterns, which are usually printable, to use as a blueprint until you have more experience and feel more confident in your ability to create them on your own. Take some time to think about what kind of crystal grid you want to create. Some people create them for general reasons, while others are more specific with their intentions. Regardless of what you want to create a grid for, use crystals and gems with qualities associated with that purpose. Where can you place them? Before you even begin to create a crystal grid, you first need to find a clear, safe space to place it. First of all, you will want to put in a place where it won’t be disturbed or knocked over. If you have cats or small children in your home, prepare space on a surface that is too high for them to reach, or in a room or closet where you can keep the door locked. The crystal grid does not necessarily have to be in a place where it will always be seen by you or anyone else in your home. Some people choose to put them on their altars. If possible, try and place it near or around something that represents what it is intended for. For instance, harmony in the workplace - place it either in the workplace somewhere (if possible), or near your front door so you can remind it of its intention of providing you with inner peace and enough strength to get through the day. For attracting prosperity, keep your wallet or purse near it. Since they generate powerful energy, it might be best not to keep them too close to your bed, as you don't want them to interfere with sleep. Some experts also recommend to NOT place the grids too close to electronics. Always cleanse the area and the tools before you begin! You don’t want any lingering negative energy to get in the way of your manifesting. Cleanse the area with the herbal smoke of your choice (sage is always excellent). You can also envision a bright white coming down and enveloping the area and tools. The crystals themselves should always be individually cleansed of negative energy as well – especially if you’ve used them in other energy work before. How to Create Effective Crystal Grids Once again, it is essential that you look over the premade templates and blueprints to get an idea of what a grid will look like. Some popular and simple layouts for beginners include the all-purpose “Flower of Life” symbol as the base, Love Grids, Healing Grids, Four-Sided and Six-Sided Crystal Energy Grids, “Metatron’s Cube”, and so forth. Now, one thing all grids have in common is that they have a “centerpiece” or “master crystal” of some sort, which can vary depending on your intention. This will be the “generator”. A large piece of crystal quartz is usually placed in the center since it is the highest vibrating stone. For Love Grids, though, you might want to use Roses Quartz as the centerpiece instead. If you are using crystals with points, and want to create a grid that brings energy to you or your home, have the points facing inwards towards the generator. Likewise, if you want to create a grid that sends energy out to the universe, have the points facing away from the generator. Some minerals are more specific in how they should be used while others are versatile and can be used for a range of intentions. A few versatile gemstones include: Moonstone Amethyst Abalone Bloodstone Garnet Jade Carnelian Note: intuition is very important. Always follow your instincts on which crystals to use and where to place them. If something doesn’t seem right about a particular layout or pattern, just go with your own intuition. However, it’s still ideal that you take the time to learn about different minerals and their properties and uses before attempting anything on your own. As you get the hang of creating the grids and using them, you can try creating your own by drawing or painting the design on paper, wood, or cloth. Some practitioners become so adept that they don’t even need to have a visual pattern – they simply lay the crystals and stones out in a pattern that seems right to them by using their knowledge and personal intuition. Charging and Setting Intentions Tools and Components The center stone is an essential communicator, as it acts as a broadcaster of sorts for all of your grid intentions. Always start with it during the charging process. Some people even use crystal wands or Reiki wands in addition to the generator to help communicate with the grid. However, a wand might not be necessary if you already have some experience with energy work. Your pointer finger could be just as effective. Those who want to place the grid on their altars will use their athames for the charging. Charging Methods Charge each crystal individually, obviously starting with the generator. With your pointer tool (finger, athame, pointer crystal, etc...) touch the generator with your intention in mind. From there, touch each stone in the grid one at a time with the pointer, touch the center crystal again with the pointer, and then touch the next stone, back and forth, until every single gem has been charged. The order you charge them gems in depends on what you are trying to manifest. Always start inward and work your way outward if you want to put the intention out into the universe, and work your way inward from the outside gems if you want to attract something into your life / home / place of work. If there is only one layer of gems surrounding the center crystal, begin with one positioned in the eastern direction and work around in a circular motion to the South, West, and North (more on this below). The grid doesn’t just have to consist of the layout with crystals. You can add other visual aids such as pictures associated with, or symbolizing the things you are trying to manifest. Or, you could simply write down your intention on a piece of paper and place it underneath the center crystal (more on this below). If you want to create a grid to help you manifest a romantic partner, make a list of the attributes you would consider ideal in a partner, as well as what a happy, fulfilling relationship would be like for you. Placing Stones According to the Elements As mentioned above, the four directions can play a role in crystal grids. One simple, yet effective technique is to align stones in accordance with the element they are most associated with on a grid, and then charge the stones facing towards the East, and work your way to the South, West, and North. Some people like to use aids such as candles and incense during the creation and charging process. Stones associated with Air should be placed towards the East (Sapphire, Tourmaline, Peridot, Topaz, Rhodonite, Citrine, Carnelian, etc...) Stones associated with Fire should be placed towards the South (Red Garnet, Fire Opal, Fire Agate, Red Jasper, Zircon, and Sardonyx). Stones associated with Water should be placed towards the West (Emerald, Aquamarine, Pearl, Hematite, Coral, and Opal).   Stones associated with Earth should be placed towards the North (Quartz, Aventurine, Jadeite, Turquoise, Onyx, Agate, Turquoise, and Cacholong. Setting Your Intentions When setting the intention it is especially important to charge the generator first, as mentioned above. Hold it or touch it with the receptive hand. Focus on your intention. Visualize it being sent to the center crystal. It’s okay to even "talk" to it. Switch it to your dominant hand and continue visualizing your intention. Try and connect with it emotionally. Send the energy of your intention to your generator. Just imagine "seeing" the intention or desire going to the grid, coming down into the generator, and spreading through each crystal, one by one. Visualize the outcome as well, and how you will feel once the grid begins to work as you programmed it to. Even if you write down your intention on a piece of paper, you’ll still want to speak it out loud or mentally. Always state your intention using only positive words – never negative ones. For instance, state: “It is my will to be in overall good health, mentally and physically”. DO NOT state anything like “I will not be ill or unhappy”. Note: Some people opt to hold the generator against their third eye. It is worthwhile to activate your third eye chakra if you haven’t yet done so. There are crystals and stones that help with that as well. Recharging and Deactivating a Crystal Grid Even if you choose to place the grid in a place in your home that isn’t accessed often, like the attic or basement, you can’t just leave it there unattended all the time. You’ll need to continue adding energy to it on a regular basis. Some experts recommend repeating the charging method every 24 hours, while others consider once every 3-4 days to be sufficient enough. It really depends on the complexity of the grid and how difficult it may be to obtain that which you are trying to manifest. Always try and stay as calm as possible when recharging the grid. It may help to do a meditation session first. How long should you keep it up? If it’s for a long-term, general goal, such as keeping peace and happiness in the home, then keep it up for as long as you wish. However, if it is for a more specific goal, then you’ll want to go through a deactivation process and take it down once you are satisfied with the manifestation results. What about moving it? It is okay to move a grid, although you’ll want to be very, very careful with it. If any piece gets knocked over or if any stones fall out of place, then just put everything back into place and take a few minutes to recharge it. How do you deactivate a crystal grid? The first thing you need to do is to thank each stone individually, and then take them off the grid, one-by-one. Cleanse them just like you did before you created the grid. You’ll have to do a “deprogramming” process for each gem when you no longer need it for the specific reason for which you programmed it in the first place. While focusing on each individual crystal, hold it in the palm of your hands and say something like “I cancel and clear you of all previous programs and energies now”. Yes, you can use the same crystals later on in future grids as long as you deprogrammed them and cleansed them properly. Conclusion Crystals don’t have to be difficult to work with. Don’t feel overwhelmed by all of the grid templates out there. Just start with a simple one, like a triangle or small circle and use crystals that you feel will be best for the job. It’s okay to have personal favorites and to use gems that you feel drawn to.

Crystal Healing for Beginners

Crystal Healing for Beginners

Crystal Healing for Beginners Crystals have been revered for thousands of years for their mystical and energetic properties. Each type of crystal is considered to have unique characteristics that can be used for specific purposes, including healing. You’ve probably heard claims of their healing powers, but what do you know, if anything, about how they are used for healing the body, mind, and soul? First of all, crystal healing typically isn’t something that a mainstream doctor would recommend. This is a form of alternative healing that so many people have always turned to – and still do – to help with the healing process of a particular ailment or to enhance their overall health - physically and mentally. Here is an overview crystal healing for beginners, and some of the methods involved: Crystals and Chakras Using crystals to assist in chakra alignment is very common in alternative healing and energy work. If you’re not familiar with chakras, it’s essential to understand that each chakra has its corresponding properties and colors, and when combined with the properties of the right crystal, there is the perfect formula for boosting healing and positive vibrations. Root – Also known as the “base” chakra, is located at the base of the spine. It is associated with dark red and emotions such as stability, security, and basic needs. Use crystals and gemstones such as garnet, obsidian, and tiger’s eye to bring balance to the root chakra, and to deal with feelings of instability and insecurity. Sacral – Since it is located above the pubic bone, this chakra is obviously associated with sexual energy and creativity. Use stones like sunstone and carnelian for a creativity boost, or for promoting sexual health. Solar Plexus – The navel chakra is responsible for feelings of power and self-esteem. When it is out of order, we may feel powerless, out of control, and have a negative self-image. Golden yellow labradorite, peridot, and citrine are all good choices for working with the third chakra. Heart Chakra – The heart chakra is obviously extremely important. When it is clogged, there can be both emotional and physical issues. It’s also right in the middle of the other chakras and can interrupt the flow between the lower and upper chakras. Use green and pink stones to help bring healing to the 4th chakra (rose quartz, rhodochrosite, malachite, emerald, etc...).   Throat Chakra – When there are problems with communication, honesty/authenticity, and faith, the throat chakra could be “closed” and in need of opening again, which you can do through alternative healing methods such as using crystals and gemstones. Use ones that are associated with articulation and communication and come in shades of blue like aquamarine, blue lace agate, and turquoise.   Third Eye – The gift of the “third eye” chakra is being able to see both inside ourselves and the outside world around us. It is located right at the brow, in front of the brain. If your 6th chakra isn’t working properly, you might experience problems with perception, intuition, and mental well-being. Crystal healing can help with this, especially if you use stones like amethyst, lapis lazuli, and purple fluorite.   Crown Chakra – Since it is located at the top of the head, the 7th chakra is what helps us access higher states of consciousness. It is what connects the body and mind to the universe. If there is an imbalance in the crown chakra, it becomes difficult to find peace spiritually. There could also potentially be physical problems, such as migraines and sensitivity to light and sound. Like the third eye chakra, amethyst can be used for healing the crown chakra. White stones, such as moonstone and clear quartz, are also ideal.   How to Use the Stones If you want to use the chakra healing method, order a crystal or gemstone that is appropriate for each chakra. Some experts recommend going ahead and ordering an entire set so that you’ll have them ready just in case you ever need them, but the decision is entirely yours. You could also order a piece of “chakra” jewelry adorned with 7 tiny crystals to help bring balance to all of your chakras. Note: Before using any crystals, make sure you cleanse it properly (more on that below). Keep the relevant stone or crystal near the chakra you want to work with. For example, if you want to do some work with your crown chakra, keep a piece of amethyst under your pillow at night. Or, for healing your heart and/or throat charkas, wear a necklace with the appropriate crystal(s). Meditation is always an essential part of crystal healing, regardless of whether you are performing chakra work. If you’re not used to meditating, don’t worry. The process doesn’t have to be difficult. Here are a few steps for you to try: First, find a quiet, comfortable spot to either sit or lie down. Hold the crystal or stone between your palms (including jewelry), relax, and set your intentions (“It is my will to heal <whatever ailment or negative emotion you are dealing with> with the energies of this <name of stone>”). Some people choose to close their eyes at this point, and visualize the outcome they are hoping to achieve, and others choose to keep their eyes open and look at the stone in their hands. Always put a focus on your breathing and keep an open mind. Some people also combine crystal healing with Reiki. Each of these spiritual healing techniques is powerful enough on its own. Using the two together during Reiki healing sessions has the potential for even stronger results. Cleansing and Programming Crystals Crystals aren’t just inanimate objects. Gemstones aren’t just “dumb rocks”. Not only do they have internal energy, some of which can be associated with molecular vibrations, but crystals have unique properties and characteristics. Some would even say that they have memories. For this reason, you must first cleanse any stones (including jewelry) before you begin any healing work so that you may begin anew and communicate your intentions to them. First things first, you can cleanse any negative energies that a crystal might have picked up in the past through various methods. Water isn’t always the best method, depending on the type of crystal. A few that are considered safe to cleanse in water include clear quartz, citrine, agate, red jasper, and tiger’s eye. Always be careful, and never allow them to sit in water for too long. There is also the direct sunlight method, but like water, not all stones do well under direct sunlight. The easiest and most convenient methods for most people are the sage method and the “grounding” method. Sage is excellent for repelling negative energy, so surrounding your stones with sage candles, or setting them in a sacred place with sage incense burning around them might be ideal. Or, you could simply “bury” the stone in soil and allow it to ground itself for several hours. Go and get it and gently wipe it off with a dry, clean cloth. How can you “program” crystals? Simply by holding them in your hands and using affirmations to inform them of your intentions. A few examples: “It is my will that my head is healed and to be relieved of the pain of migraines”. “I fully immerse myself in creativity.” “All blockages preventing me from living to my fullest potential are eliminated, with the power of this crystal and my own will.” State these affirmations over and over again while you are meditating with the stone(s). Use candles and incense as well if you feel they will help you enhance the experience. It’s a good idea to carry them around with you everywhere you go just in case you need a boost of positivity, or simply to hold onto if you are feeling negative emotions or illness. Remember: When doing work with crystals, your intention should be in harmony with that particular type of crystal in order to work. For example, use bloodstone, garnet (and other red stones) for things like strength and victory, and green crystals for emotional healing, balance, and prosperity. If you are having communication problems at work, or with relatives or friends, it would be ideal to use a blue stone to help you with expression issues. More About Healing The easiest way to use the crystals is to have them within your energetic fields, whether you wear them as jewelry or keep them close to your body. However, this isn’t the only way. It’s important to remove them occasionally and cleanse them to get rid of any negative energies they accumulate throughout the day by dealing with negative people, or even from yourself if you are having a bad day. Every time you cleanse your crystal, recharge it again afterwards. Meditation, Reiki, and Prayer Some healers place stones on their patients’ reclined bodies to balance the aura / chakras. You could try this method by yourself as long as you are careful and place each stone (appropriate for the relevant chakra) in the right area of the body. If you are unable to place the stones on your body, place them in a large circle and lie down inside the circle to meditate. To fully receive a crystal’s energy during meditation you will need to either lay it on the appropriate part of the body, hold it, or lie within the circle for at least 15 – 20 minutes. Focus on your breathing and either state your positive affirmations and intentions out loud or mentally. Once again, this method is very helpful when combined with Reiki. If you ever have Reiki healing sessions, make sure to “lay on the stones”, either on your body, or around you, during your future sessions. Or, if you are a Reiki healer yourself, offer crystal healing to your clients. Lastly, some people feel more comfortable using crystals during prayer, as they believe that the energy contained in the stones may help magnify or attract the vibrations that angels and other positive spirits project. Use one (or all) of the following stones: Seraphnite White jade Angelite Selenite Moldavite Moonstone Either place the chosen stone(s) on your altar, or hold them between your palms when praying. There are also “Worry stones”, which are completely polished, smooth gemstones with an oval shape that are used for prayer, relaxation, and anxiety relief. You might want to look into these as well. In a “formal” healing session in which crystals are used, the patient will be expected to lie flat, and the healer will place multiple crystals either on each chakra point, or on the floor facing those parts of the body. Sometimes stones will be placed around the hands and feet as well. Finding Answers and Clarification Crystals can also be used in helping you find the answers you seek, whether they are related to the physical world or the astral. Perhaps there is an important decision you need to make regarding a personal relationship with someone, or you are in need of career advice. Or, you might want to try and communicate with your spirit guide or guardian angel. Whatever the case may be, state your intention to find those answers or guidance that you seek before you begin meditating or praying with the crystals. Crystal Healing Bags / Emergency Kits If you are completely new to crystal healing, you might be feeling confused or overwhelmed with all of the different types of crystals, gemstones, and uses. The fact that many stones have multiple uses can make things even more confusing. To keep things simple, you can start off with just a few stones and go from there. Order one or two stones of each color that can be used with a corresponding chakra. For instance, order amethyst and purple fluorite for the 3rd eye chakra, aquamarine and turquoise for the throat chakra, rose quartz and jade for the heart chakra (remember: both pink and green stones can assist with opening and healing the heart chakra), and so on. Note: some stones work better with feminine energies and some work better with male energies. Some of the top female energy stones are moonstone, rose quartz, jade, amber, jasper, and obsidian. Some of the top male energy stones are garnet, smoky quartz, malachite, hematite, and lapis lazuli. It’s okay to play favorites when it comes to crystals and gemstones. If there are any that you feel particularly drawn to, for any reason, go ahead and order those first. Either order pre-made crystal pouches / kits or create your own by purchasing tumbled stones or jewelry. Think of emergency situations during which you might need a boost of positive energy and clear-headedness. Program the relevant crystal to help you get through a particular type of situation. For instance, if you work in a stressful environment and often experience anxiety, go ahead and prepare a “calming stone” that you can use in situations where your anxiety or stress levels or high. Celestite, amethyst, fluorite, and even black tourmaline can be good for this. When you can, take a couple of minutes to sneak into the bathroom or another quiet place at work, hold it in your hand, and keep repeating an affirmation to stay calm. Choosing Your Crystals People choose a certain type of stone for either specific reasons or because that stone “calls” out to them. Sometimes, it’s a combination of both. If you already know which type of ailment or issue that you need healing for, and then choose the appropriate crystal(s) for that issue. Look at pictures to see which, if any, calls out to you. Also, decide whether you would prefer loose stones or jewelry. The best way to learn more about crystals and their properties is to simply order a few (or an entire set for chakra healing), hold each in your hands and focus on how each one makes you feel. The vibration and energy of certain stones might be a great match for you. It’s still good to have the others around as well, even if they don’t feel particularly strong to you at this particular point in time. Don’t forget to cleanse all of them anyway, regardless of how you plan to use them. Now that you have a better understanding of how crystals and gemstones are used in healing and therapy, it’s time to start looking around at jewelry pieces and loose stones to find out what all is available.

Sensing Crystal Energy -- How to Choose the Right Crystals for You

You may have heard others talking about “feeling” the energy from a crystal. Have you ever felt anything from a crystal before? Exactly how does one feel the energy of a crystal? Sensing energy from someone or something isn’t reserved for psychic mediums. Anyone can sense crystal energy! If you’re new to working with crystals for self-care, abundance, happiness, etc., then one thing you should do is learn how to recognize when you are sensing their energy. Why should you learn how to sense crystal energy? Because that’s how you find the ones that will help you the most!Once you’ve opened yourself up to the healing energies of crystals, and you’ve decided to seek their help, certain ones will call out to you. If you want to work with a certain crystal for a specific intent -- for example, let’s say you go to a crystal shop in search of Pyrite, because they have the special power of manifesting abundance.Or, if you’re keeping your energy sensing skills open, you will might actually be drawn to a crystal that can help you with cultivating more self-love. In this case, you might feel inexplicably drawn to rose quartz! We could all use more self-love, right? But if you’re in need of more self-love, before you can properly manifest wealth (which is often the case), listen to your intuition! That crystal is calling to you. Here are a few tips and tricks for learning how to tell the difference between sensing crystal energy, and already knowing which crystal you need. Speak Your Intention If you want to open yourself up to crystal energies, you will need to set an intention. Make it clear to the Universe that you’re seeking out the crystals that will help you the most in your journey, or whichever ones will work best with your own personal energy. Speaking out loud works, and so does simply speaking it in your mind. It’s also helpful to talk to someone you trust, and tell them what you’ve set out to do. It doesn’t matter how you set your intention -- the universe, and your subconscious mind, are listening. Sight Your sense of sight is usually the first one you should listen to when trying to sense crystal energy. If you walk into a crystal shop, and a certain crystal is the first one you see when you look around, that’s the first signal. You know how when you’re in a clothing store and your eyes are automatically drawn to a certain piece of clothing, and it seems to “jump off of the shelf” at you? This is because your energy is attracting anything to you that is compatible with it.Crystals have their own intelligence. They can sense when someone will get the most benefit from them. When your eyes are automatically drawn to a certain crystal, it’s possible that that crystal is calling to you. Touch Once you’re drawn to a crystal by sight, go over to it and pick it up with your left hand.Your left hand is the hand that most easily senses outside energy. This is what people tend to talk about the most in regards to feeling crystal energy, because it’s the most shocking sensation. Many people describe it as a faint “buzz” that you can physically feel in your hand! It’s exciting to feel a small “buzz” or a wave of calm or joy come over you when you pick up a certain crystal. This doesn’t happen with everyone all the time, but it’s definitely is an obvious sign that the crystal wants you to take it home. Intuitive Many people in this day and age, especially in Western society, aren’t taught to listen to the signals from their subconscious minds. When we’re more in tune with our subconscious, we have a much better chance of sensing with our intuition, along with our other senses. If your intuition is strong, and if you’re willing to listen to it, you will have a much easier time with finding the best crystals for you. Trust your first instinct, and learn to tell the difference between “wishful thinking” and your inner knowing. Do a little research on any crystal that gives you a “buzz”, or any that you are drawn to visually or intuitively. It could be that this crystal holds some power or knowledge that will help you somewhere on your journey. It’s up to you whether or not to listen.
