What Is Orgonite?

Orgonite is made with natural resin, Quartz and metal such as Copper wire and/or metal shavings. Orgonite may also contain other crystals such as Black Tourmaline, Rose Quartz, Selenite, Amethyst and Citrine, just to name a few. To create Orgonite you need to layer the non-organic materials, such as Copper and metal, with the organic materials such as natural resin or wood.

Orgonites have a deep rich history, but to understand everything you need to know about them, we have to go way back to where it all started.

Orgone is known to be a pseudo scientific concept, referring to a form of energy that's known as a life force, Chi, Ki, Prana or universal energy. This esoteric energy or universal life force was discovered in the 1930s by Wilhelm Reich, a gifted and visionary scientist who fled from the Nazis to America.

Wilhelm Reich (1897-1957) was a psychoanalyst who apprenticed under Sigmund Freud. He developed numerous theories around personality and the psychological and physiological origins of neuroses.

In 1940, Wilhelm Reich constructed the first device to accumulate orgone energy: this was a six-sided box constructed of alternating layers of organic materials (to attract the energy) and metallic materials (to radiate the energy toward the center of the box). Patients would sit inside the accumulator and absorb orgone energy through their skin and lungs. The accumulator had a healthy effect on blood and body tissue by improving the flow of life-energy and by releasing energy-blocks.

How Does Orgonites Work?

Orgonites are believed to work in a variety of different ways, from crystal healing to energy storage. Willhelm believed that orgone energies came from the purest expression of love such as orgasms which is where the word orgonite comes from. While orgone energy was initially discovered within the human body, Reich's observations and experiments revealed its existence in a free form within the atmosphere. He further uncovered that orgone energy permeates all space, making it ubiquitous.

Reich stumbled upon the discovery of this "cosmic" energy unintentionally. He had no grand ambitions to revolutionize science or make a groundbreaking revelation. Rather, he meticulously observed and experimented day by day, documenting his findings and studying them without imposing any preconceived notions. What he unearthed was the presence of the same energy that flows during a sexual embrace in all aspects of nature, whether living or inanimate. He realized that this energy permeated every corner of the natural world, even the air itself.

What is Orgone Energy?

Willhelm Reich described ‘orgone’ as being a vital energy that could be demonstrated visually, thermically and electroscopically. He discovered that when non organic (metal) and organic material (usually wood or cotton) are mixed together in layers, this mixture would act as a magnet to orgone energy. 

Reich created big boxes of these mixtures where he would place his patients to receive high amount of Orgone energy into their bodies. Reich patients were cured of different illnesses including high advanced stages of cancer. That created a conflict with the medical establishment and Reich was sent to prison where he died.

Although Reich is long gone, his orgone discovery is not lost forever. In fact, in recent years, Reich’s orgone work is being rediscovered as a healing tool to help the body reach a state of harmony.
