Creating a Sacred Space using Crystal Energy

Do you have a Sacred Space?

A sacred space will help you grow spiritually, mentally and emotionally, whether you’re affiliated with a religion or not. There are many benefits to having a designated spot in the physical world where you can decompress and reconnect with your higher self.

It can be anywhere you feel safe and at peace, away from the bustle of the world.

There are many benefits of having a sacred space in your home.

It’s good for your mental health.

It relieves stress.

It brings balance into your life -- balance between the outside world, and your inner world.

It can help you set intentions and bring your goals to fruition.

Your sacred space should be a place that feels good as soon as you enter it -- full of good energy. It’s common practice to bring objects from nature, such as plants and crystals, into a sacred space indoors.

Crystals in particular, are perfect for any kind of sacred space. They store energy and the energy of your intentions and diffuse any negative energy. They also hold timeless wisdom from the earth, and beyond.

You have a wide variety of options when it comes to choosing crystals for your sacred space, depending on your needs and your intentions for personal growth.

Cleanse the Space with Crystal Energy

When you’ve decided on the perfect spot in your home for your sacred space, you’ll need to get rid of all the clutter and dust. Your sacred space is no place for clutter. Just the sight of clutter and dust can create an atmosphere of unrest, as well as disrupt the natural flow of energy.

Once you’ve cleansed the space physically, you will need to cleanse it energetically. There are a number of ways to do this, one very popular way is by burning sage and/or palo santo, and bathing the entire area with the smoke. You can also use the power of sound -- a bell, gong, wind chimes, or a Tibetan singing bowl to clear the surrounding area of discordant energy.

As previously mentioned, some crystals also have the power to keep the surrounding area clear of negative energy.

Selenite is a powerful energy-cleansing stone. It draws pure white light down from the astral plane and into the physical world. It will also help balance your third eye and crown chakras, so you can connect to your higher self.

Black Tourmaline is almost like the dark twin of Selenite. Black Tourmaline is great for placing at the entrance of your sacred space, as it acts as a protective guardian against bad vibes. Placing a Black Tourmaline and a Selenite somewhere in your sacred space will keep the good energy flowing, as well as help establish a sense of balance.

Represent Elemental Energy with Crystal Energy

In many spiritual practices, the elements must be represented within your sacred space to help maintain a balance of these energies in your life. You can use crystals to represent these energies. Below is a list of these elements, their meanings, and some of the healing crystals that correspond with them.

Place one or more of these elemental crystals on your altar or somewhere in your space, in the cardinal direction (North, South, East, West) they’re associated with. This will bring the positive energy of each element into your sacred space, and harmonize these different areas of your life.

Your sacred space, first and foremost, should feel like a sanctuary in every sense of the word. It’s the place to go to honor yourself. Your spiritual growth revolves around self care, because you have to take care of yourself first to properly honor and care for others.
